Failure to Protect the Median Nerve
Gabe Sassin successfully tried a medical malpractice case against an orthopedic surgeon who failed to adequately protect the median nerve during a carpal tunnel release procedure. The surgeon’s negligence resulted in a partial transection of the median nerve, leaving the client with complete loss of sensation throughout the median nerve distribution of the hand. Following trial, the jury returned a verdict of $530,000 in favor of the client.
