Failure to Diagnose Prostate Cancer
Gabe Sassin successfully resolved a medical malpractice claim against a urologist who failed to recognize and respond to persistently elevated prostate-specific antigen (PSA) levels in his patient. The oversight caused a three-year delay in diagnosis, time during which the cancer advanced unchecked. By the time prostate cancer was finally identified, it had progressed to Stage IV metastatic disease, and the patient ultimately lost his life to a cancer that earlier intervention may have controlled. The case resolved before trial for a confidential amount.
