Failure to Diagnose in NICU

Gabe Sassin successfully resolved a medical malpractice claim against a major Texas hospital and pediatrician whose nursing staff and attending physician failed to recognize and treat necrotizing enterocolitis, a life-threatening intestinal condition, in a days-old infant. When caught in time, NEC is treatable, and most newborns go on to make a full recovery. Because of the defendants’ failure to act, our client’s daughter never had that chance. The case resolved before trial for a confidential amount.
