Purely Soothing 15% MSM Eye Drop Recall Lawyer
Purely Soothing Eye Drops are used as an anti-inflammatory aimed to assist with symptoms of ocular irritation and/or swelling. These eye drops contained 15% MSM, which is a compound that has been used to treat a variety of health conditions, including inflammation and pain.
If eye drops become contaminated, they can cause serious harm to the eyes and potentially lead to permanent vision loss. If the infection is not caught quickly, it can spread and contribute to other adverse events requiring additional medical treatment.
If you have used Purely Soothing LLC contaminated eye drops manufactured by Pharmedica, you must speak with an attorney with experience in handling product liability and recall cases. At Hastings Law Firm, we can help you understand your legal options, including whether you are eligible for financial compensation for any injuries or damages you may have suffered.
Purely Soothing Eye Drops Recalled Due to Non-Sterility
On March 3rd, 2023, Pharmedica USA LLC issued a Worldwide voluntary recall for their Purely Soothing 15% MSM Drops. According to the Food and Drug Administration, Pharmedica issued this recall due to non-sterility issues and is urging consumers to immediately stop using the product and return it to the place where it was purchased.
Pharmedica also requested that all wholesalers and retailers stop distributing the product and return it to Pharmedica USA LLC immediately or dispose of the product with proper verification.
Which Pharmedica Contaminated Eye Drops Were Recalled?
Pharmedica manufactures the Purely Soothing Drops in Phoenix, Arizona, and they are distributed Worldwide via online e-commerce websites and Trade shows. One of the primary places consumers purchased this product was on Amazon MarketPlace.

Symptoms of an Eye Infection
If you have used eye drops with bacterial contamination, you are at serious risk for an infection. Each person is different, but some of the most common symptoms of an eye infection are:
- Eye irritation
- Eye pain or discomfort
- Redness and swelling of the eye or eyelid
- Foreign body sensation or feeling like something is in your eye
- Ocular irritation
- Yellow, green, or clear discharge
- Increased sensitivity to light
- Blurry vision or vision loss
If you are experiencing any of the following symptoms after using Pharmedica’s Purely Soothing MSM eye drops, we urge you to discontinue use and seek medical attention from your healthcare provider immediately.
Concerns of Contaminated Eye Drop Use
Using non-sterile eye drops can pose additional long-term health risks. Eye drops not produced in sterile conditions can become contaminated, leading to serious eye infections and other adverse reactions.
If you develop an adverse reaction that is not immediately treated or is antibiotic resistant, you may be at risk for the following:
- Severe eye infection
- Blindness
- Permanent vision loss
- Permanent vision damage
- Urinary tract infections
- Respiratory infections
- Bloodstream infection
- Sepsis
- Hospitalization
- Death
At this time, Pharmedica has not had any reported infections as a result of the use of their affected eye drops. However, due to the recent recall notice of Apotex Corp. Brimonidine Tartrate Ophthalmic Solution eye drops, and the previous Global Pharma Healthcare Artificial Tears recall, we urge you to be cautious. Ezricare and Delsam Pharma’s deadly outbreak of the highly antibiotic-resistant bacteria, pseudomonas aeruginosa, has proven how quickly these infections spread.
If you or a loved one has experienced any adverse reactions from using these products, call Hastings Law Firm today. Our FDA eye drop recall lawyers can help you get the compensation you deserve.
