The loss of a life can be heartbreaking, but it can be even more painful when it is the loss of a young mother. Sometimes, hospital negligence can be the cause of an unfortunate death. A Texas family is currently suing a local medical center for the death of its loved one after she suffered complications after her cesarean section.

The 23-year-old mother was sent home with a healthy baby, only to return to the hospital a few days later with an infected and bleeding incision. The hospital staff determined the cause was MRSA, and she underwent surgery and was re-admitted. This temporarily resolved the issues, but, after a short time, new problems arose.

The victim began finding boils in multiple places on her body and had neck pain and fever. She was placed in ICU after she returned to the hospital. Physicians discovered an abscess in the vicinity of her spine, and she was scheduled for another surgery. Unfortunately, the surgery did not go as planned, and, sadly, she became a quadriplegic. The surgery was supposedly handled by a physician who was not trained or prepared for this type of procedure.

The woman’s family members blame the hospital and its physicians for the woman’s eventual death. There is now a pending lawsuit based on multiple claims of hospital negligence. Any Texas residents who have experienced similar situations may have the right to file medical malpractice lawsuits. Monetary damages received from a successful lawsuit may be used to help alleviate financial burdens resulting from the negligence.
